Detroit River Walleye Jigging Fishing Report
We are starting to see some reports of walleye being caught in the Detroit River. We have couple reports coming from the St. Jean area of some walleye being taken on different colored jigheads tipped with minnows. The water temp. is still pretty cold, but the fish are there. We have also received several reports of walleye being taken in the Trenton Channel area. Most fish were coming in and around 20 feet of water on live minnows and Fin-S on chartreuse jigheads. Still not a lot of guys out there yet, so there is plenty of room if you can take the cold. Good luck.
Detroit River Walleye Jigging Fishing Report
The walleye have been on in the Detroit River. Most reports are coming from the Canadian side of the river. Have received several reports form the Belle Isle and Cow Pasture areas. Most reports are for lighter colored jigs: white, yellow, and fluorescent colors. Fish are coming on jigs tipped with Fin-s, Berkley gulp minnows, and Wyandotte worms. Most coming from the minnow baits however. Most fish found around the 30′ mark. Cold front coming in for the weekend may slow things down a bit. Male and females being caught with many of the females spawned out. Good luck and be safe.
