Ice Fishing Report – Lake St. Clair
Well fishermen, there is not any trust worthy ice on the lake yet. There is some ice in the canals, but it’s far from safe at this point. We still need several consistent days and nights of really cold weather. We continue to receive reports of perch being taken from the shore, but there are a lot of small ones. Try canals, marinas and places like Ford’s Cove. The baitfish are stacked up in these areas. Good luck and be safe.
Lake St. Clair Fishing Report – Last Ice
Stopped by Gino’s and there were a few guys still out there fishing. They were catching some perch on teardrops with minnows. The fish were decent, but the ice was not. The same goes for the Selfridge area. Guys are going through, but luckily the water is down. A 3-wheeler broke through the other day by Anglers Point Marina. There have been some guys catching some nice perch in Anchor Bay, but beware of the ice. I don’t recommend anyone heading out and think this is it for the ice. I’m ready for Spring anyway. How about you?
Ice Report for Lake St. Clair
The ice is a bit tricky for fishing. The main lake is breaking down quickly, but there is some ice in protected areas. Not many reports except for the canals. Getting reports of some gills and crappie being taken in the Metro Beach area canals and marina. Be careful as there is a bit of a current that runs down the Black Creek. Good luck and be safe.
