Ice Report for Lake St. Clair
The ice is a bit tricky for fishing. The main lake is breaking down quickly, but there is some ice in protected areas. Not many reports except for the canals. Getting reports of some gills and crappie being taken in the Metro Beach area canals and marina. Be careful as there is a bit of a current that runs down the Black Creek. Good luck and be safe.
Lake St. Clair Ice Fishing Report – Last of the year?
The ice is rapidly melting and some warm winds are blowing. Time to be careful on the main lake. Nobody wants to take a helicopter ride from the Coast Guard. Getting some reports of perch being taken from the Gino’s Surf area. One tip you may find crazy, but always seems to be true this time of year is watching for squirrel and bird activity before you head out. If the animals are busy, the fish should be hitting as well. The canals should still be good for some time. Crappies and gills are being taken in the canals around the Metro Beach area. Most reports have fish coming on minnows. It won’t be long until Spring is here, so enjoy the ice while you can. Be safe.
Lake St. Clair Fishing Report – Ice Fishing
Well, the reports from this week have been horrible. We’ve yet to get one good report of guys catching decent quantities or good sized perch. Everything we’ve heard has been spotty. Some fish coming from the Salt River area on minnows. Gino’s has been really slow as well as the Selfridge and Metro areas. Hopefully these fish will turn on this weekend with some warmer weather on the way. Good luck out there and be safe.
